Professional Supervised Visitation Monitor
Supervised visitation is when the noncustodial parent can visit with the child only when supervised by another adult. Supervised visitation is used to keep the child safe, while supporting the parent-child relationship.
Supervised visitation is often necessary when:
-
There has been physical, sexual, or emotional abuse of the child by a parent.
-
A parent has neglected the child.
-
There is a history of domestic violence.
-
A parent has a substance abuse problem.
-
A parent has a mental condition that poses harm to the child.
-
The threat of abduction by one of the parents.
-
A parent has been absent from the child's life and wants to start or reestablish a relationship with the child.
-
There have been any potentially dangerous family situations.
How Supervised Visitation Works?

If supervised visitation is determined to be best for your child by a judge, the court will outline an order of how the supervised visits will work for all parties involved. The order may specify that the supervised visits take place in a designated facility. The judge will also order that a monitor will be present with the noncustodial parent and the child for the entire duration of the visits.
